Also, PMMA/ZnO/TiO2 composite fiber membrane in synergy with silver particles shows better antibacterial activity against Gram-negative bacteria E. coli, making PMMA/Ag/ZnO/TiO2 fibers a promising candidate in water purification. An increasing number of children are socially transitioning to live as their identified genders rather than their assigned sexes, yet little empirical work has examined the decision-making process surrounding social transitions. We aimed to understand (1) why parents and their gender nonconforming children do and do not consider social transitions and (2) whether families discuss social transitions both before and after initial social transitions.
Studies 1 and 2 involved telephone interviews of parents of socially transitioned transgender children (N=60) and gender nonconforming children who were not socially transitioned (N=60), respectively. Study 3 involved an online survey of 266 parents of socially transitioned transgender children.
Parents of socially transitioned transgender children (Study 1) and parents of gender nonconforming children who are not socially transitioned (Study 2) often reported that their children had led the decision to transition or not. Most parents of gender nonconforming children who had not transitioned had discussed transitioning (Study 2) and most parents of socially-transitioned transgender children reported discussing the option of future re-transitions (Study 3).
Parents often report that they and their children are discussing social transitions, a process that children are leading. In contrast to possible concerns about discussing transitions, our results suggest that many families openly discuss the possibility of their children transitioning (or re-transitioning), yet these discussion do not inevitably lead to an imminent transition.

Rapidly progressive dementia, quick involuntary muscle jerking and specific radiographic and laboratory findings are characteristic of the disease. CJD should not be ruled even if the clinical presentation is outside the common age range. Herein we present a case of an 80-year-old man with probable diagnosis of CJD. The absolute diagnosis of CJD can only be confirmed post-mortem with a brain biopsy. This study report focuses on facts on a pregnant woman of COVID-19 who admitted to Al Ahsa Maternity and Children Hospital on March 2020, with suspicion of COVID-19 infection. The patient was complaining of labor pain prior to presentation. The objective of this study is to report the case and to describe the challenges that are faced while dealing with a case of COVID-19 pregnant patient, during labor, delivery, and surgical intervention. This case reports a patient in labor pain with suspicion of COVID-19 infection due to contact with a positive COVID-19 family member. With no clinical signs or symptoms consistent with the disease, and positive polymerase chain reaction (PCR) outcome for COVID-19 later on, the hospital main departments conducted an active contact tracing and reviewed the preparation and infection prevention control precautions. The most common problem with COVID-19 is the low level of awareness between healthcare workers related to infection prevention and transmission of the COVID-19 virus. The illness can be better handled and the medical team can be more secure by enhancing the education, case triage, proper guideline and protocols to be implemented appropriately.Breast cancer continues to be the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women in the United States. This is more noticeable in communities with pronounced healthcare disparities. The aim of this study was to investigate the different demographics that might play a role in the detection of breast cancer in a county hospital emergency department (ED). A retrospective study was conducted of female patients diagnosed with breast cancer over a five-year period (1/1/2015 to 12/31/2018). Patients with breast cancer as the primary or secondary diagnosis were identified. This study shows that 66 (73.3%) women diagnosed in the ED were Hispanic or African American. There was a significant delay (a median of 461 days) in the time between the diagnosis of suspected breast cancer in the ED to their follow-up visit with definitive diagnosis in a primary care clinic. These findings suggest that women with a suspected breast cancer diagnosis who are seen in a safety net hospital and have Medicaid funding may have significant delays before final diagnosis is made. Patient demographics could have an impact on the patients' access to screening and regular healthcare visits, hindering an early breast cancer diagnosis by a primary care provider. The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is a respiratory pathogen with remarkable properties of multisystem involvement and numerous complications. The coronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID-19) presenting as stroke is becoming more common. Herein, we describe an unusual case of COVID-19 in a patient who initially presented with myalgia, fatigue, loss of taste and smell, and non-specific memory impairment. Two months after infection with SARS-CoV-2, the patient presented with acute onset of right-sided weakness, sensory loss, and worsening cognitive impairment. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction was performed to detect the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and the results were positive at the time of initial infection as well as during the current admission. Neuroimaging suggested a subacute ischemic infarct in the middle cerebral artery. The patient was re-tested for SARS-CoV-2 and found to be positive, but the cycle threshold was high (40.4) along with a positive test for immunoglobulin-G (IgG) for SARS-CoV-2.
